Hi, I’m Troy Peiler a GRC professional turned cloud security builder.

I grew up on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, earned my degree from UH Mānoa, and later moved to Las Vegas, where I pivoted into tech and completed my M.S. in MIS at UNLV.

I’ve worked in governance, risk, and compliance, partnering with technical teams on security controls, audits, and evidence driven validation. That gave me a clear view of how security is assessed and pushed me to focus on how it’s engineered.

Now I’m building and documenting hands-on AWS security projects around IAM, logging/monitoring, detection, and secure architecture. My goal is to bridge the gap between compliance and engineering designing controls that are practical, defensible, and actually reduce risk.

Outside of work, I’m all about family, travel, the outdoors, and music

What I’m working on now: building this site and shipping new cloud security projects. Follow along here: posts
